Heather Barnes OAM
Early Childhood Consultant

Heather Barnes is an early childhood consultant and works throughout Australia. She has taught in kindergartens, higher education and TAFE, worked for the National Childcare Accreditation Council, local government and Gowrie Victoria and is an enthusiastic advocate for quality outcomes for children.

Her work as a consultant includes conference presentations, workshops, resource writing, and mentoring services towards further quality improvement. Heather facilitated the first Assessor Training, wrote and delivered modules for the 2012 Assessor Training and continues to provide further training for Authorised Officers in several states and territories. She is a Life Member of Gowrie Victoria, a member of the Victorian Children’s Council and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2015 for service to early childhood education.
