Kerrie O'Neil
Reggio Emilia in an Australian context

In the course of many visits to Reggio Emilia, Kerrie O’Neill has come to better understand the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy and practices.

Although not explicit, many of the phrases and pedagogical concepts used in the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards represent pedagogical concepts implicit in the Reggio Emilia Educational Project – the environment as the third teacher and the image of the child as rich, strong and powerful – among others.

Join Kerrie in her powerful presentation as she uses documentation from the Australian context, as a strategy for educators to critically reflect on their understanding of the Reggio Emilia pedagogical practices and illustrate how some practices can be utilised authentically in Australian Early Childhood settings.
