The Australian Childcare Alliance Victoria (ACA Victoria) is committed to promoting and maintaining the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children. As the peak body representing early childhood education and care providers across Victoria, ACA Victoria recognises the critical role the sector plays in safeguarding children and ensuring they are supported to learn and develop in safe and nurturing environments.

ACA Victoria upholds the principles of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and is committed to supporting our members to understand and meet their obligations under the Child Safe Standards, mandatory reporting legislation and the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.

Through advocacy, sector leadership, training and resource development, ACA Victoria works to strengthen child-safe cultures across early childhood education and care services. We support providers and educators to implement robust child protection policies, build staff capability in recognising and responding to risks of harm, and embed practices that prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing.

ACA Victoria recognises that safeguarding children is a shared responsibility and works collaboratively with government, regulators and sector stakeholders to promote best practice in child protection. We are committed to ensuring that children’s voices are heard and that their rights, dignity and wellbeing are respected in all aspects of service delivery.

We also acknowledge the importance of cultural safety and inclusion. ACA Victoria supports environments where all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disability, feel safe, valued and respected.

ACA Victoria continually reviews and strengthens its policies, resources and sector supports to ensure they reflect current legislation, emerging best practice and the evolving needs of the early childhood education and care sector.
