Discover the secrets behind children’s behaviours…

Come with me on a day in the life of an early childhood educator. Each day, you enter a room filled with eager, curious faces. You guide these young minds, nurturing their growth and development, all while juggling the myriad of behaviours that come with young children. It’s an incredibly rewarding, yet challenging, journey.

At ACA Victoria, we understand the unique demands placed on early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals. You’re not only caregivers; you’re educators, mentors, and role models. You shape futures, one child at a time. You support families. But, sometimes, the “whys” behind certain behaviours can leave even the most experienced educators searching for answers.

The Navigating Behaviour Conference is designed to provide a beacon of insight and understanding in the ever-evolving landscape of early childhood education.

Set aside 23 and 24 August for an event that brings the best minds in early childhood education together to explore and unravel the complexities of child behaviour.

Our keynote speakers are pioneers and thought leaders in their field. Dr. Justin Coulson, Dr. Billy Garvey, Lael Stone, and Catharine Hydon will each bring their wealth of knowledge and unique perspectives to the stage. Along with Dr. Kaylene Henderson, Robyn Papworth, and Kelly Goodsir, all leading experts in their fields, they will delve into topics that matter to you, from understanding emotional intelligence and resilience to the science behind child development.

You’ll explore inclusivity for children with developmental delays or disabilities, practical strategies to support children through their most challenging moments, and the transformative power of connectivity and compassion in addressing trauma-based behaviours. Each topic is designed to provide you with practical, actionable insights that you can take back to your service.

There will be keynote addresses for everyone, and dynamic panel discussions and interactive breakout sessions tailored for Educators and Directors.

Building Connections

The Grand Ballroom awaits! The Gala Dinner on Friday night is your chance to connect with fellow educators, providers, and sector leaders. Share stories, clink glasses and let your hair down. It’s a time to celebrate your achievements and draw inspiration from others.

By the end of this conference, you’ll walk away with more than just new strategies. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the ‘whys’ behind children’s behaviours, empowering you to create positive, nurturing environments that foster growth and learning. You’ll feel more confident, equipped with the skills and knowledge to support the diverse behaviours of the children in your care.
