2019 Conference - The Wrap Up!

Many thanks to everyone who joined us recently at our 2019 Excellence in ECEC Conference and helped to make it such a wonderful success!

We were delighted that so many people enjoyed our magical MC Josh Staley. Josh's quirky humour and amazing talents brought a fresh approach to the MC role and provided us all with some light-hearted fun.

The conference was kicked off by motivational speaker Craig Harper, who inspired us all with his personal experiences about changing his mindset and applying these practices to every area of his life, setting the perfect tone for the rest of the two days.

This was followed by a fantastic selection of break out sessions and a jam-packed program of Keynote Speakers and activities.

We were excited to have the Hon. Dan Tehan, Minister for Education join us for a short presentation and to take questions from delegates. You can read about his Q&A session in an article in The Sector here.

On Day 2 Chris Dee reminded us of the importance of outdoor play, and how funnily enough, our most precious childhood memories tend to be things that took place in the great outdoors.

Further break out sessions included an exercise in mindfulness. It was wonderful to see so many warm, friendly faces sharing ideas and participating in the group activities. There was also a sesson on music in wellbeing in the Activity Hub by Galina Zenin.

Meanwhile in the Exhibition Hall delegates were able to chat to over 30 exhibitors, sample their products and resources, and enjoy a coffee or a hot chocolate at the McArthur cafe area.

Many thanks to our Artist In Residence Dr Red Ruby Scarlet for allowing the collective art project to take place. It produced a wonderful array of colours and shapes which were built on and moved around over the two days, making it a dynamic work of art.

The final show stopper was of course The National Quality Framework - The Musical, performed beautifully by Louise Dorrat and Dr Red Ruby Scarlet! What a visual and musical treat! They very cleverly covered off on the elements of the NQF using well known catchy pop songs and show tunes. We hope you enjoyed the show and left feeling exhilarated! :)

On a final note, we'd like to thank our Platinum Sponsors McArthur and Burgess Rawson for their generosity and contributions to a fabulous event, along with Gold Sponsors Guild Insurance and Child Care Super, Bronze Sponsors QikKids and Modern Teaching Aids (MTA), and additional Sponsors HESTA, Officeworks, the Department of Education, Bonkers Beat and Ezedebit

We'd also like to thank our Media Partners The Sector for providing such amazing coverage of the event on social media, Little Rockers Radio for exhibiting and bringing disco magic to the conference hall and CareForKids.com.au for their amazing support.

Thanks again for joining us for two days of education, engagement, discussion, sampling, dancing, and inspiration!

We look forward to seeing you next year!
