Creative Play - Georgina Dimitrakis

Georgina Dimitrikas from Creative Play has always been passionate about working with children. Upon completing year 12, she commenced her studies at the University of Melbourne and completed Diplomas in Early Childhood.

Georgina has now been in Early Childhood for 30 years and has owned Creative Play in Bulleen for 16 years. In addition, she opened Creative Play in Doncaster 8 months ago, and this centre is already at full capacity and has employed 50 new Educators.

In addition, Creative Play has achieved an Exceeding Rating for the past 16 years and has had an intergenerational relationship with the local nursing pre Covid and is now in the process of re-connecting with new Covid safe processes.

Georgina has worked in various Early Childhood Settings and was a validator for the National Childcare Accreditation Council, Area Manager for large corporations, and conducted training in multiple areas for Educators. One of her most significant achievements was running her first centre, which was a liquidated centre with no enrolments. When she took it over, within 6 months, it was at full capacity with a waiting list.

Over the years, Creative Play Early Learning centre has kept abreast with and progressed alongside technology and practices. As an Early Learning centre operator, Georgina believes it’s extremely important to continually evolve to offer new skills, knowledge and cultural experiences to build and strengthen relationships within the community.

Long-lasting relationships with families, children, educators, and the wider community are essential elements of Creative Play. Without quality relationships, the 5-star-looking building with educational resources means very little. Most of Georgina’s Educators have been with her for 16 years and have taken their long-service leave. Creative Play has employed over 50 Educators in 8 months for their new service, including 4 ECT teachers, due to their relationships.

Georgina and her staff believe in providing positive outcomes for all children through a holistic approach to learning and providing innovative opportunities, along with creating magic by encouraging and viewing children as leaders. Click here to see more information on Creative Play ELC.
