Member Spotlight - Emil Bulum

Emil Bulum is the owner of two Early Learning centres, Sentia EL (Melbourne CBD), which has been operating for 16 years & Artemis ELC (ACT). Both these centres are blessed with high-performing and long-servicing teams. Emil ensures that his staff is well-resourced and motivated to inspire the children they work with. His main aim is to create positive impacts for the communities who attend his centres. This is achieved through his dedicated staff, who have recruited, coached, and led him to achieving his current rating of ‘Exceeding National Quality Standards.’

Emil believes that the child is the curriculum. His staff respond to children’s interest and scaffold their learning to the concept of ‘what’s next?’ They’re essentially brain architects promoting rich neural connections that provide solid foundations for life. The Circle of Security Training has also strengthened his staff’s connections with 0–3 year olds. In addition, through the introduction of music and literacy experiences from multicultural backgrounds Emil and his staff both recognise and create a sense of community.

Seeing happy smiling kids & staff is a highlight of Emil owning and operating his own ECEC services. Sentia, with a playground overlooking the Yarra River, is a bespoke centre Emil hopes will be recognised as the best in the Melbourne CBD.
